The scene, labelled “Scene 118”, was considered the most difficult scene to shoot in the horror film Scream (1996) as it took place entirely in one location and featured the individual stories and deaths of multiple characters. Scene 118 is the majority of the film and was set at Stu Macher’s home. Actors spent weeks undertaking intense emotional, gruelling and physical scenes while coated in fake blood and wounds. As the scene was set during the evening, production had no choice but to halt at dawn. At the very end of the filming sequence the cast and crew created T-shirts with “I survived scene 118” labelled across them.
